TIMBO Africa Foundation
Preserving nature and wildlife conservation
The Timbo Afrika Foundation is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to wildlife and nature conservation in Africa, founded by Albert Hartog, who is still closely involved. They work with local communities and wildlife management organisations to support conservation efforts and promote sustainable practices, with the dream to create a wildlife corridor connecting to the Kruger National Park.
A trail that exceeds personal benefit
Raising funds for a 800KM wildlife corridor
Our collaboration with the Timbo Afrika Foundation aims to realize a visionary project: the creation of an 800km wildlife corridor stretching to Mozambique. This corridor is a beacon of hope for wildlife conservation, offering safe passage for species between protected areas, enhancing genetic diversity, and nurturing healthier ecosystems. The profits generated from our program directly support the Timbo Afrika Foundation's vital conservation work. This means every step you take on the trail not only advances your leadership skills but also plays a critical role in safeguarding Africa's natural heritage and supporting its communities.
Empowering the local economy and its environment
Community support and tree nursery
We are committed to empowering local communities and bolstering the economy through responsible ecotourism initiatives. These efforts are not only about preserving nature but also about providing sustainable livelihoods and job opportunities, contributing significantly to local well-being and environmental stewardship. Moreover, we acknowledge the environmental impact of international travel. To mitigate this, we've established an extensive tree nursery for indigenous species, directly combating CO2 emissions and promoting ecosystem recovery. This project doesn't just offset the carbon footprint of our travelers; it actively contributes to the regeneration of wildlife areas and provides essential employment opportunities in the region. The participants are asked to plan their very own tree at the end of the trail.
My name is Amanga and would love you to join us on our mission!
More about me
I'm a psychologist, facilitator and coach rooted in both Africa and the Netherlands. For the past 7 years I've been guiding leaders on transformative nature trails. My definition of leadership is to take full responsibility—for yourself, your relationships and your impact. In the stillness of nature, we rediscover honesty, growth and real connection. I put my heart into the Limpopo Leadership Trail, not just for your own journey, but in support of African wildlife, wild spaces and local communities.
